Rector

:dom.jpg On 13 January 2007, Dom started his ministry as Rector of St. Saviour’s and Episcopal Chaplain to Stirling University. This is Dom’s fourth parish having previously worked in Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow. In Manchester Dom worked in a densely populated student area, so has returned to that type of ministry, at least on Friday’s during semester when you will find him up at the University.

Dom’s specialism is in inter-faith relations, having studied comparative religions and spent most of his working life engaging with people of other faiths, while remaining a parish priest.

The other key interest in Dom’s work is Spirituality. Between Manchester and Newcastle, Dom tested his vocation as a Franciscan Friar with The Society of St. Francis, mainly based at Hilfield Friary, Dorset. Dom is a Spiritual Director and leads retreats in Scotland and England.

We also have a Lay Reader, Sue White, who is a retired teacher and shares the responsibility of pastoral care and preaching.

Lay Reader

Sue White is our Lay Reader at St. Saviour’s.

She writes: I have lived in Bridge of Allan for 18 years and taught in the Primary Sector. I have three grown up daughters, two of whom work in education, one a nurse and two wonderful grandchildren Ben and Emily.

I started thinking about readership 12 years ago on answering a church questionnaire but it took me a further 6 years to persuade myself that I really felt comfortable in this role... many prayers... and I subsequently took a “Certificate in Christian Studies” at Glasgow University.

What do I do? Jack of all trades! I enjoy working with all age groups; preaching; officiating at services and having fun with the kids.

If you visit our very friendly church I look forward to meeting you.
